A recently divorced parent suddenly finds himself learning a new language, the language of custody. There are so many words, it is easy to be overwhelmed or confused. Here is a basic guide to common terms used in custody cases.
Joint custody. Also known as: housing policy, co-parenting, Shared Parenting. Joint custody may refer to individuals or joint custody. Physics is when parents share physical time with the child.
